Mrs Bryant - 22nd September 2011 - Twilight
In twilight we continued to look at threats. In this specific lesson we looked at phishing. We watched a video on how to phish and then we did our own research on it. We found out the same information that we did for DDoS.
For homework we have to do our own research on malware and identity theft.

Mr Sommerville - 22nd September 2011 - Period 2
We have now moved on from doing our transactional websites in class (we will finish them at home) and have started to look into spreadsheets in preparation for our exam in January.
We got given a mock scenario where we downloaded the spreadsheets off of Moodle, transferred data and worked out formulas for "Lyonair".
Our homework from this lesson is to complete the next three headings for our transactional websites which are 'Ease of making a transaction', 'Methods of purchasing' and Ease of navigation. These three headings are to be done and uploaded to Moodle on Sunday evening.

Mrs Bryant - 22nd September 2011 - Period 1
At the start of today's lesson we got back our marked back office diagrams. I managed to score 8/10 on mine therefore I do not need to add anything to them.
We then started on a new piece of work about threats. In this lesson we looked specifically at Denial of Service (DDoS). We watched a short video on how to carry out a DDoS and then we went and did our own research about what a DDoS is, how to perform a DDoS, how to prevent a DDoS and then looked for some examples on transactional websites.
We will use this research to write a piece about the different threats that transactional websites are under.
